Após mais de 13 anos de espera, finalmente podemos curtir Mother 3, sequência de Earthbound do SNES, totalmente em Inglês!
A série Mother (podemos chamálo de Earthbound Zero, mas nunca veio para o Ocidente) como é conhecida no japão, é uma série de RPG desenvolvida pela Nintendo e que teve origem no NES, ganhou uma sequência para o SNES chamada Mother 2, conhecida como Eartbound e único título a chegar no Ocidente, e posteriormente mais uma sequência para o GBA chamada Mother 3 (ou Earthbound 2 caso venha para o Ocidente).
Mother 1 (Earthbound Zero) conta a história de Ninten, um garoto de 12 anos que possui poderes psiquicos tendo de viajar ao redor do mundo para encontrar 8 melodias que irão salvar o mundo de uma raça alienígena controladora de mentes. Mother 2 (Earthbound) já se passa no tempo moderno e atual, o jogador assume o papel de um jovem chamado Ness, isso mesmo, o mesmo Ness de Super Smash Bros, que acorda durante a noite ao som de um meteoro que cai próximo a sua casa. Ao investigar o meteoro encontra um inseto alien chamado Buzz Buzz que pede por ajuda, pois uma criatura maligna e alienígena chamada Giygas tomou o controle da terra no futuro, incia assim a jornada de Ness para impedir que tal evento ocorra.
Em Mother 3, diferente das séries anterioes, o jogo é dividido em capítulos, são 8 no total. A ao invés de focar em um grupo de crianças, esta continuação foca em Lucas e sua família, e a história alterna sua perspectiva em cada um dos 8 capítulos, bem ao estilo Dragon Quest, bem como o estilo de batalhas. A história de Mother 3 começa com Flint, pai de Lucas…bem, vou parar por aqui para não me chamarem de Spoiler
