Série Final Fantasy ultrapassa 100 milhões de jogos vendidos

A Square Enix anunciou hoje que a franquia Final Fantasy, sua principal linha de RPGs desde os tempos da Squaresoft, em 1987, quebrou em maio a marca de 100 milhões de jogos vendidos ao redor do mundo.
Nascida no Famicom, a série passou por inúmeras plataformas com dezenas de spin-offs, dos quais muitos vingaram e ganharam suas próprias sequências. O lançamento mais recente da linha principal de RPGs foi o MMO Final Fantasy XIV, e o Japão verá a chegada de Final Fantasy XIII-2 ainda este ano.
Com o anúncio, a Square Enix coloca a série no mesmo patamar de outras como FIFA, Need for Speed e Grand Theft Auto em número de unidades vendidas, ficando atrás apenas das franquias Mario, Pokémon, The Sims e Tetris.
